San Diego has been off the air for many months now.  As these feeds are provided by volunteers who devote their time, money, bandwidth, and equipment, there really is no guarantee a feed will be around from one year to the next.  About the only one that is guaranteed is Boston and that is because the site founder hosts that one himself.  If that one goes for good chances are the site is gone, too.   :)

Speaking specifically of SAN, though, I have a relative who last year moved to within five miles of the airport.  At first he didn't have a job and lived with a roomie so he would not commit to hosting a feed, despite gentle pressure from me.  Now, though, he has a well paying job and has a place of his own.  He will be in my home town early June so I am going to see if I can address all of his concerns to make setting up a feed there as painless as possible (I will provide all equipment, manage the laptop remotely, and even pay him a few bucks to offset the electrical costs).  Stay tuned.

In the meantime if you know someone a bit more eager to provide a feed in "America's finest city" then please take the helm!  :)

Definitely #1 on my list of  airports I would love to hear up (live around the BARET intersection on the LOC27 approach)

Are you interested in hosting KSAN?  :)

Better yet, if you're out towards BARET, that puts you at least 15DME out from the field (I'm gonna take a guess and say towards El Cajon or Temecula) so you may not get line of sight to host KSAN. But you should still be in a prime spot to get SOCAL Approach for that sector, since you're close to Miramar. How would an Approach feed work for you? I know quite a few people who would be interested in hearing the action going into SDM, SEE, and MYF. Also, since you're that close, have you thought of a MMTJ (Tijuana) feed?

BL.

I'd actually be more than happy to host but I am pretty broke right now and could not afford any equipment.

On my handheld scanner, I do get SAN but the tower reception is only so-so.  I pick up all airborne traffic but because I am in La Mesa (actually closer to HAILE) and am somewhat low elevation, SoCal 124.35 I don't get real well at all .  KSEE tower is similar. I have never tried MMTJ but that could be interesting.

So if there are any volunteers with some old equipment they would like to donate, I'm happy to donate my house and cable modem bandwidth.

I live near Gillespie field, in El Cajon, a suburb of San Diego.  If there's any interest, I could stream Gillespie.  I can hear the aircraft talking to the tower at KSAN, but not the tower.  I can sometimes hear SoCal approach, but not very clearly.
