Anyone know? Must be some sort of construction, just heard tower say it's gone for 3 months. :-o

I saw it, I was wondering if anyone had specific information as to what they're doing. I think last year they were installing CAT III on the north runway, but 6L already has it so perhaps it's just maintenance. Hopefully there won't be any 'drama' with heavies coming in on 24L. :-)
Edit: I see it all now on the NavCanada website, thanks.

Sorry, I don't have specific knowledge there but last year both Syracuse, NY, and Buffalo, NY, were plagued with similar duration projects. Both were due to repaving/repainting the runway and, in Buffalo's case, extending the length a bit. I'll put my money on a repaving/repainting project until someone with more knowledge steps in. :)

Looks like an ILS replacement for 06L, crappy that it will take most of the summer. Pearson's in for a busy summer with their most frequently used runway gone...

Entire rebuild of the runway's surface
