BOS 121.75 and 121.9 How are they split up?
« on: March 01, 2009, 04:01:45 PM »
I was listening to Logan Ground and was wondering how 121.75 and how 121.9 split up? Are they split up east and west like Tower?

I'm not sure that this is still accurate, but according to the Jeppesen 10-9 Airport Diagram I have for KBOS(Revision date Jul 30, 1999):
121.9 is GROUND
121.75 is for HELICOPTER

Additional freqs are:
D-ATIS 135.0
CLEARANCE DEL 121.65
GATE CONTROL 134.05
TOWER for  RWYS 4R/22L and 9/27 119.1
TOWER for RWYS 4L/22R, 15L/R, and 33L/R 128.8
DEPARTURE 133.0

This mentions no East/West division, and only gives one freq for GROUND...but like i said...this Jepp is from 1999!  Hope this helps!  :-D

From an authoritative source:

"It's based on volume and we split it at a geographic point on the field.  Ground 1 will work north of the point and Ground 2 will work south of that same point.  Hasn't been opened in years though."

that jeppesen is wrong, the tower freq's are now 128.8 for west and 132.22 for east and 124.725 for helicopters.

Ground is always combined up on 121.9 and 121.75.
Since Delta Ramp was added its not necessary anymore.
If you look at a map GC2 would have worked E/K from A taxiway all the way down to delta ramp; with GC1 working everything else.

Yea...like I said it is from 1999...I just use them for flightsim...I find freqs are even different in flightsim compared to my old set! Thanks for the correct info!  :-D
