Title: Vegas Tower and Nellis AFB
Post by: SFSPATCHES on July 11, 2009, 02:30:53 AM
First this is a GREAT idea... I also picked up the Iphone app but I noticed this was missing the Las Vegas Tower and ground freq.   Does anyone know if the busy Vegas airport will have a chance of the Tower and Ground up on ATC?

I also find the Nellis AFB freq busy, its the home of the Thunderbirds and Red and Green flag as well as the USAF FWS.  A lot of things going on at this base, but its not listed also.  I tried sending a few messages to the ATC people but no luck.   So I leave it to all of you,, if you have any ideas I would like to see if we may get these great freq's.

Thanks
Rick

You'll probably find most of what you want here

In addition to the LSV info at Airnav, Here is the info on the Thunderbirds:

http://www.freqofnature.com/index.php?m=Aviation&p=Thunderbirds

This is mainly used when they are out doing airshows, so keep that in mind.

You won't hear anything for Red Flag or Green flag between here and KINS because it's mainly done over UHF, although if you're in the area up US-95, here is the info for Creech Air Force Base (http://www.airnav.com/airport/kins).

Glenn mentioned in his other post (probably in the Setups forum) on why he isn't adding LAS Tower and Ground to the feed. I'm not sure where he is physically in proximity to the radar across from the field, but if anyone is closer, that'd be great (I'm up by VGT, so I won't be doing any good).
