The order of ATC
« on: December 26, 2008, 09:19:24 AM »
Hello all, I'm relatively new here, and love this site.  The different feeds from around the world are addicting.

Can anyone give me the order that pilots would talk to ATC.  For example, is it Clearance/Delivery, then Ground, then Tower?

Thanks,

TH

I operated a flight from JFK to ORD on XMas day.  Here is the breakdown of the facilities I talked to:

JFK clearance delivery (to obtain clearance)
Delta Ramp control (pushback/taxi out of ramp)
JFK ground (taxi out)
JFK Tower (takeoff)
N90 departure (climbout)
ZNY (climbout/cruise)
ZOB (cruise)
ZAU (cruise/descent)
C90 (approach)
ORD north tower (landing 27R)
ORD north ground (taxi in)
ORD ground (taxi in)
Delta ramp control (taxi to gate)
