The New ZOB is actuallt the Old ZOB
« on: April 03, 2009, 04:06:39 PM »
Took a listen and the listed frequencies are not accurate of the NEW ZOB feed. They are actually the frequencies of the Old ZOB FEED. Basically its the rebirth of SW PA. ZOB feed. Again the listed frequencies are not accurate.

That is correct, it is the old ZOB feed coming back.  All feeds are works in progress and at any given time some frequencies may be incorrect as they are adjusted.

If you have some constructive feedback or suggestions, we're all ears.  The feeder (PIT feeder) is very diligent and open to feedback and suggestions.

Just saying that for a newcomer who may tune that feed is looking to hear the specific frequencies and not hearing them at all. Sort of like false advertising if I may speak boldly. Quite a number of feeds have this problem as well.

You are certainly entitled to that opinion.  My experience is that most people do not feel the same way.  And we work quite hard to make sure that the frequency listings are as accurate and up to date as possible.

Considering what people pay to listen in, I actually think it's quite the bargain.

One thing you might consider doing is finding a friend near one of the ZOB transmitters you are very interested in...pay that person to buy a scanner (or send one out there) and then you can listen to any frequency you like.  Voila.  :-)

Thanks for the feedback.   I do mean that.  I am a subscriber to the Kaizen philosophy - constant improvement.  Always trying to improve things, so we'll see how much if this is really true and work to make it better.

It is not me that I am complaining for becuase of the wrong frequencies listed. In my experience from 30 years of flight tracking and being an avid monitor of ATC there are many people who I talk to that use flight trackers and various aviation decoders to plot what they listen to they are expecting a plane to be at a certain area to learn about different sectors(but these are wrong) because of wrong info dispalyed on the feed site. Secondly not all of us are fotunate and well off to supply radios. Many people I direct to this site tell me the same thing that aviation is not limited to towers and certain altitudes. Avaition is all inclusive to all altitudes and different airspaces. There are many that tune to other websites such as Remotehams and Global Tuners where everyone is openminded on tuning to different aspects of aviation and dont limit their knowledge of our hobby to a set norm that majority rules as such. If I go to a store and buy an item  that lists certyain ingredients I expect those ingredients to be there and nothing missing or wrong. Again as you said I am entitled to my opinion and to speak for others who think that not everything is a set in stone policy of what is listened to.

Your opinion has been noted.

You should realise that LiveAtc is a volunteer-operated network and that's why you can listen in for free. Contributions are welcome (bandwidth, new feeds, etc.).

Another point worth noting - personally, I love listening to certain en route sectors.  But en route is (by a very wide margin) the least requested type of ATC facility.  Especially "hi, goodbye" sectors.
