hi i was looking up in the big bule sky and saw that there is and approch path heading north. that is quite near me but im no sure what runnway its for.  and i was woundring what freq. they are on   i thnk its the bos app. but is there a way figure out was star they may be on  or what ever you all know the stuf alot better than me

I'm certainly not familiar with Boston, but for anyone that might be, it would probably be helpful if they knew your location.

Those aircraft are most likely on the ORW3 arrival into Boston and are speaking with ZBW (Boston Center) on 124.85 or 133.42 or are talking to  A90 (Boston Approach) on 120.60.  

It depends where on the STAR they are.  Most of the time, these aircraft are being handed off to Approach between ORW and PVD and are given the crossing restriction of PVD at 11,000 and 250 knots.  From there (PVD) they either remain on the STAR (to INNDY intersection) or are vectored off it to the approach being used at Boston.
