I have just seen a super Sydney feed has been added . However it is missing one frequency on departure and that is south southwest departures on 129.8
-
Unable due to that frequency being out of range of the SDR set...that was one fallout, unfortunately...hard to cover them all. It will be added from another site or when this site is enhanced with more equipment.
-
I dont understand when that frequency is literally overhead Sydney and is within 20 Mile's from the airport
-
Sydney departures is actually 129.7. ... 129.8 is Melbourne center, used for inbound routes to Sydney from the southwest below approx FL180, then hands off from there to SY App on 128.3.
-
We have 4 SDR's at this location. Three of them are operating in multichannel mode which means they each can provide separate feeds over a 2.4 MHz chunk of spectrum...with the mix of frequencies in use at YSSY there had to be a casualty...as we try to include as many frequencies as possible on an initial deployment. So there had to be a casualty and 129.7 was the casualty. The other SDR scans Clearance Delivery and Ground, which we've never had coverage of and for which there is listener demand.

well you have 3 seperate director blocks. 2 have 1 frequency only and the other have the same 2 frequencies as those blocks do listed as both . Maybe one of those 2 that have only one director feed can be changed to 129.7 and effectively you would have complete. overage . makes no sense having a block with all director frequencies and then the same frequencies covered on 2 other blocks.

The Director feed with both freqs is a separate site with only a single scanning receiver. To add 129.7 would cause the loss of 126.1 (the separate feed). That may work - the other site could lock out 125.3 and monitor only 126.1, if he's OK with that.
