Streaming Software

Hey, were can i get the software that is used to steam an audio feed? Is it possible to set it up so that i just type in an IP address and it will pop up in window media player? (streaming from my pc. and somthing else other than shoutcase)

I imagine that you want to stream an airport on liveatc.net? If so, then Dave will send you the software (called stream transcoder) to help get you started.

i do eventually want to start a feed. but as of now i do not have the hardware to do so. so id like to put up a stream so i can listen to it while im away once and a while. i want to use my pc as the server.

As long as you have an always-on connectiong + always-on computer (ie. you don't shut it down) then you can feed straight to LiveATC... since you already have a scanner I'm assuming, you can hook it up to your computer and it sends a very small amount to the server, and it's the LiveATC server that actually broadcasts the info.

Simply: you just stream the data to LiveATC, and Dave here does the rest.  :)

If for some reason you're not looking to stream ATC feed, look in to shoutcast.

If you want to do it yourself, set up your own Icecast server.

I'm sure if you dig through that site you'll figure it all out.
