Burbank tower evacuated
« on: December 29, 2021, 01:03:35 UTC »
They closed the tower apparently a Covid case, and had to close to disinfect.  Funny hearing a Southwest and jets self announce and CTAF on the radio in a class Charlie on busy afternoon like today sounding like a bunch of Cessna's.  Listening now, SOCAL has remoted in to the frequency, to help but obviously blind to what's happening on the ground.  They are normally the only 24 hour tower in the valley, and can get very busy.

ATC Zero at any ATC facility isn't exactly big news anymore.  :-)

Expect a lot more of it. The NAS routes around the issue. Not ideal at all, but the system works.
