Title: Space Shuttle journey
Post by: dan9125 on December 11, 2008, 04:39:10 PM
The Boeing Shuttle Carrier took an interesting trip today. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/NASA911/history/20081211/1707ZZ/KNFW/KBAD (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/NASA911/history/20081211/1707ZZ/KNFW/KBAD)
Flight Aware has been showing its progress as it makes it way back to Kennedy Space Center in Florida with the Shuttle on its back. Looks like the trip took them around the Houston area at 7000' , for photos possibly.

NASA has very strict flight rules in regards to the shuttle carrier.  either it was a photo op or they had to avoid weather.

plus that thing guzzles fuel and i doubt they would just land at any airport, gotta go to air force installations to refuel.
