SFO approach reporting point "Lozett"?
« on: April 13, 2007, 23:20:50 UTC »
Listening to Oakland Center 125.85 for a/c approaching into SFO from the north - often are requested to proceed direct to "Lozett", or somesuch routing point. I have looked on the SFO sectional but I can't find this or anything that sounds like it. Can anyone direct me to it?

Thanks,
-Keith

LOZIT is a fix on the GOLDN4 (Golden Gate 4) STAR. LOZIT happens to be the crossing restriction for SFO arrivals at 11000. Many times, center controllers will assign direct a fix (such as LOZIT) for spacing and seperation for the handoff to Norcal TRACON.

Could you tell me approximately, geographically, where is LOZIT?

Thanks!

I want to address this old topic. Im well familiar with LOZIT and know exactly where it is. But I am curious as to why I cannot seem to find it on any of the sectional maps. Seems strange for such an important point. Or am I just missing it?

Thanks

Mike

STAR and Approach fixes would clutter up sectionals too much, so they are omitted.

The fix is easy to find on the STAR plate though:

Ok so if it is used entirely on approach then it is omitted? rather than those that are used enroute? is there some definitive policy?

Thanks for the info

Looking at some sectionals on skyvector.com i would say that mostly fixes on airways are depicted.
For STAR or approach that is not necessarily the case.

On the other hand ROBER on the PARCH arrival is on the Low IFR chart while it does not seem to be on an airway.

So it probably depends how many other fixes are already cluttering the map.
