The Broadcastify audio is getting a lot of play from this, but their audio stream and their recorded audio is largely useless as it's a bunch of KSEA frequencies on a single scanner.  There are minutes at a time where you don't hear this guy talking to the controllers and the pilots that were trying to help him because the scanner is stopping on other frequencies constantly.

...and that's why they're not known for their ATC coverage.

At 3:35 mark is when he is taking off. Scary stuff.

I'm both entranced and saddened by this incident.  RIP Rich...

What feed did you catch the pilot to ATC?  Did the guy finally come live on Tower, Departure, or Approach?

I haven't been through the Live ATC archives yet, just reposting what I've found.  Here is the Broadcastify audio archive.  It is many frequencies stepping on each other but it has most of the incident in order.

I found it.   There goes most of my morning.  This has it all the way to the end.  It was all captured on SEA approach.

I think this is a link to the wrong file - Aug 10 @0230 is a day too early.  And I couldn't find anything on the Approach feed at the correct time.

I started trying to put it all together - there is the takeoff on 0230 Tower, and then some random broadcasts from the pilot on the 0230 Dep Rwy 16 feed, but no controller.  Most of it should have been on the 0300 Dep Rwy 16 feed, but that entire half hour in the archive is completely silent!  What's up with that???
