Title: scanner to PC cable
Post by: smithmi on August 04, 2006, 03:41:46 PM
hello

I am looking into opening a feed for Allentown(KABE) APP/DEP and I need help with how to connect my scanner to my PC.

I found this on radio shacks website:

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102526&cp=2032052.2032075.2032078.2032099&pg=2&parentPage=family (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102526&cp=2032052.2032075.2032078.2032099&pg=2&parentPage=family)

would this connect my scanner to my PC's sound card?

thanks

Michael

Michael,

You would want to purchase a 1/8" to 1/8" audio cable so that you can connect the audio output of your scanner to the line-in jack on your computer.  You'd want something like this (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102949&cp=&origkw=1%2F8%22+to+1%2F8%22+audio+cable&kw=1%2F8+to+1%2F8+audio+cable&parentPage=search), although they do make similar products in heavier material and longer lengths.

Regards,
Jason
