Another "newbie" question...

RVR is more than 6000.... what is RVR... it usually comes up when it's foggy around Kennedy...

the quick answer is: Runway Visual Range...just a more definitive visibility measurement

See my post on an "ask a pilot" sub-forum, this type of question is easily answered by a pilot, or of course an air traffic controller..... :?  any moderators care to weigh in on this topic?
