   Does anyone know why this near-tragedy occured ?  Did ATC drop the ball by clearing him on this runway, or should the
   pilot have realized that this wasn't going to work ?  He seemed pretty much out of control on the whole approach.

I think he should of aborted it from the start... , People need to make smarter choices.
