My brother and I tried an AT125 Bearcat scanner on our KORK feed the other day and simply does not have the volume necessary to work with liveatc. I bought it from Radio Shack. Pretty good sound and sensitivity with sony earphones, but inadequate as a feed scanner. Anybody have any thoughts about increasing the sound volume online with that small handheld? Had to resort to a 1990 Radio Shack handheld scanner to get the adequate volume to sound halfway decent at KORK.
Also, would someone in Paris, Texas, confirm a controller from Fort Worth Center talking on 134.475 and 133.55? Heard aircraft on both freqs yesterday at KFSM. Also heard the new ultra-high in use for KMLC, 128.125, being used quite a bit as well as 135.45--aircraft only. ZFW is using some new ultra-high freqs in the Paris, TX to MLC corridor.
Thanks for the ZLC feed, BTW. Any thoughts on boosting the sound on a Bearcat AT125 scanner online would be appreciated. Is it possible? Got to be a way as it has UHF aircraft frequency capability on it( that does not cost $500). Remember when Sporty's put that handheld out that had aircraft VHF/UHF capability? Real good price and I wish I had purchased six of them. Darn shame they stopped production. All Radio Shack has now is $400 plus VHF/UHF handheld scanners now. The Uniden Bearcat sounds good at airshows with the Sony ear buds, BTW. Great UHF sound at KTIK.
I need somebody in Paris, Texas to confirm that the ZFW controller is talking there on 134.475 and 133.55. I know for a fact that a ZFW controller is talking on 132.2, 135.45 and 128.125 at KMLC. Heard it personally.
