"Alpha Victor" callsign

Monitored today on 134.15 (Oakland Center) departing OAK and going oceanic over the Pacific was N52SM using the callsign "Alpha Victor Five Two".   At one point the pilot ID'd himself as 52 Sierra Mike but then corrected himself.    Anyone have any idea what the "Alpha Victor" callsign is for?.   The jet is local and I have always heard him ID himself at 52 Sierra Mike on the radio in the past.
