Quality of the radio
« on: August 25, 2004, 09:09:33 UTC »
Hello! I would just like to tell you that this website is great and will be a great help to me personally as I'm wishing to be a commercial pilot in the airline industry. Anyway I was wondering if the quality of the radios are actually bad as what I can hear from this website.
I'm unable to understand half the words that are said. Is this just me?
Or is it just people have to get used to
Thanks!

You have to get used to it, to some extent.  But in some cases the signals received are weaker than you would experience in real flight.

But if you mean you can't understand what they're saying even when the signal is weak then you should spend more time listening.  Perhaps you're just not familiar with the lingo...a common problem for someone new to ATC listening.
