Possible New Feed Question.
« on: October 03, 2005, 00:31:44 UTC »
Hey Everybody, ive been contemplting the eko feed as you all have read in the past, but one thing that is getting in the way is an always on connection. Anybody have suggestions on any good ones, pref. cheap?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

DSL.  It's cheap, easy, and leaps and bounds above dial-up.

Well dial-up is definitely not the kind of connection you want to run any sort of server. The cheapest "always on" connection you could get would be DSL. Not as fast as Cable Internet but it's definitely a big step-up from dial-up. You should try convincing you mom that dial-up is a "thing of the past" and that DSL is the new fad  Plus if u wanted to get technical,  the charges you get for using the phone line (Non-local access calls) plus the cost of the internet service, you are probably paying as much for the dial-up as u would the DSL, but i dont know what ISP you have so I might not be totally correct on that one.
