Plane's engine stops over Rehoboth Bay
The News Journal
A Maryland pilot walked away uninjured today when the banner plane he was flying crashed into Rehoboth Bay near Dewey Beach, state police said.
Thomas J. Henry, 45, of Ellicott City was alone in the single-engine plane about 1:30 p.m. when it’s motor shut off, said police Cpl. Andrea Boone.
He was able to maneuver the plane toward the water when its propeller got stuck in the sand, causing it to overturn.
Access to Dewey Beach in the Tower Road area is being restricted until the plane is removed, Boone said.
