Janet Flights @ KLAS
« on: June 19, 2007, 08:14:51 PM »
Hi all,

Do those familiar white 737-200's with a red stripe still use the callsign 'Janet'. It may just be that I am not listening closely enough but I never seem to hear them when I listen to the KLAS feed.

Thanks
Mark

Yep. Have for as far as I can remember, and still do to this day. I sometimes see them flying around up in the RNO/SMF area, and caught one parked at OMA.

I hear them on the feed all the time (and see them when I'm at the airport), so they're still flying around. The bigger question is how are they keeping those loud B732s running!  :-P

"Top secret alien technology" ;)...  This is the U.S. government, and I could not guess what kind of secret military aircraft are out at groom lake, but I sure with that huge black projects budget they have, they can ether keep those planes like new, or surly have upgraded them by now.

Thanks for the info everybody, having been to Vegas several times it will be a sad day if they phase out those 737-200 they seem to basically be part of the furniture at McCarran. Remember after my first visit I came home to try and find out who those white 737's belonged to. It made for very interesting reading. Am just going to have to listen more closely so that I actually hear them on KLAS feed, BTW its one of my favourites thanks for all the work to get it online janetva.net
