PALH question
« on: September 10, 2007, 12:57:30 PM »
I believe I recall hearing somewhere or seeing somewhere (or maybe it was just an assumption of mine) that Lake Hood Tower was a position at ANC.  That would make sense to me as Lake Hood is adjacent to ANC and just northeast of the tower, providing a perfect view of the field.  The airstrip at LH is on the opposite side of the lake, though I can't recall there being any obstructions, and the strip is no further than the approach end of 14 at ANC, so this would be feasible.  I've listened to the feed some, but haven't recognized any distinctive voices that I remember from when the ANC feed was online.

Any insight is appreciated.

Matt

I have been listening to the excellent lake hood feed, and when it is not busy, they sometimes shut down the lake hood position and combine it with Anchorage tower. Also, you can sometimes hear "Anchorage Clearance Delivery" in the background if you listen closely.
