Post by: uplink on November 25, 2011, 07:11:08 AM
Hello listeners, we are now feeding aircraft over the Santa Clarita and Simi Valleys of Southern California.

This feed includes:

-The SOCAL TRACON sectors for north and west arrivals/departures for Burbank, Van Nuys and Whiteman airports.
-The Santa Clarita and Simi practice areas (4500' and below), and the ZLA ARTCC Sector 4 that is above Santa Clarita.
-Agua Dulce airport CTAF, and the helos (2000' AGL and below.)

Frequency covered:

122.775 -Practice Areas
123.025 -SOCAL Helicopters
120.400 -SOCAL TRACON (Fillmore Sector)
128.750 -SOCAL TRACON (Moorpark Sector)
134.200 -SOCAL TRACON (Woodland Sector)
125.800 -ZLA/Los Angeles Center (Sector 4)
121.500 -Emergency/Guard
122.800 -L70/Agua Dulce CTAF

These are busy areas, and the SOCAL radar, and comms in Burbank are hindered by the surrounding mountainous terrain, when VFR aircraft are at the lower levels.

Common Arrivals heard: FERNANDO 5, LYNXX EIGHT, CEEME 1, LYNXX 8
Common Departures heard:CANOGA 9, NEWHALL 6, VAN NUYS 9

During the late night hours the SOCAL Moorpark Sector controller will handle all the Burbank sectors at once, and the ZLA controller will handle the areas such as Sectors 3, 4, & 17 together.

enjoy :-D Mark

First, thanks for putting this feed up!

Second, don't any of those combine, especially Fillmore and Moorpark, when LAX goes into suicide ops after midnight local? The MOORPARK3 arrival is used into the 6s at that time, or especially when LAX goes east ops.

thanks, Filmore will not always have it's own controller, many times the Woodland guy is doing both sectors.  I think it depends on how busy, and their staffing.  Fri through Sunday can get nuts.
