Title: New Potomac SFRA feed
Post by: JetScan1 on December 06, 2022, 10:56:19 AM
Thanks for the new Potomac SFRA South Feed. Good coverage of the Mount Vernon Sectors. Not trying to be greedy but all you are missing coverage of now is 119.850 Tyson, 124.200 Ensue, 128.350 Deale, 128.000 Andrews Final. I know these missing ones are often combined with ones covered already, but if you could only add one, 119.850 would fill in a big gap. I presume this is an SDR feed ?

The SFRA South receiver is an SDR receiver very close to DCA. Some of the feeds at that site are on a scanner which is difficult to change due to the host traveling a lot.

The SDR's there (only 4) have the following center frequencies:

    centerfreq = 121.5;
    centerfreq = 119.0;
    centerfreq = 125.0;
    centerfreq = 133.5;

This means we can only add feeds for:

121.5 +/- 1.2 MHz
119.0 +/- 1.2 MHz
125.0 +/- 1.2 MHz
133.5 +/- 1.2 MHz

and that's assuming the transmitter for those feeds are at DCA. If any are at Andrews (like Andres Final) that is too far.

So we'll try to see if we can hear Tyson, Ensue and Andrews Final but Deale would not be possible dueto lack of frequency coverage.

Thanks for checking. My mistake on the sector name, 119.850 is the Ojaay sector, not Tyson.
