Hello all.
There is now a LAX FEED up.
(I edited this post because I realized that I listed the radio incorrectly).
The equipment is a Uniden BC-780 (Uniden base scanner) radio (I really like the receiver in this radio it hears very well) connected to a Diamond Discone 40 foot above the ground with a 360 degree view and line of sight to LAX tower and FAA buildings as well as FAA radio sites on Saddle Peak and elsewhere. I am using an AOR air band NOTCH filter (at the radio) to prevent interference.
The antenna is located 790 Meters northwest (342 degrees) of the end of 6L-24R within sight of LAX
The audio is fed to a lenovo mini Laptop connected to the net via hardline ethernet. Currently using a crappy(really) USB sound card which sounds surprisingly good. I will be leaving this alone unless there are audio complaints.
The current setup will hopefully provide many days weeks and months of uninterrupted KLAX audio.
Enjoy.

Wow, thanks! It's been a while and it's really nice to be listenin' into LAX again.
:-D

Beautiful sounding feed! You've got a great signal there. Listening thru my AKG headphones right now. Thanks for the KLAX feed!

Thanks for your feed yeasumofo. It sounds great. I love to listen to KLAX comms while watching flightradar24.
LiveATC + Flightradar24 = AWSOME!

I agree, The feed is so clear..... LiveATC + Flightradar24 is a fantastic distraction while trying to do other things in the office. I suppose to get other feeds, eg, Approach, Departures etc would involve other radio(s) to be connected in the "rig"?

Agreed, the feed sounds much better, very clear.
Thanks! KC8FDU (and a student pilot)

Great job Yaesumofo! Not easy getting LAX, since their TX signals are so notoriously weak. Your windows must be rattling being that close! Mark, N6KES.

Well done !

Great feed with excellent quality! Thanks! One suggestion: You may want to add 127.85. That is an unpublished LAX Tower frequency that is used for emergency landings. Landing aircraft who have requested assistance will be directed to this frequency by SOCAL instead of 120.95 or 133.9. Ground support (Fire Department, City Ops) will also be on this frequency so they can communicate with the pilots on the ground without other traffic interfering. Some of my best catches are from this frequency.

With your location we definitely need you to leverage the stereo input on that USB card so you can provide two feeds and add another scanner for more coverage. Sounds great.

I have all the RF hardware for 2 feeds in place and working.
Dave has sent me the required bits. Including A small Uniden mobile scanner, an i Mic interface,
a (really cool) BnC splitter and a couple BnC jumpers. Everything I needed to put up a second feed.
the Antenna splitter is in place and feeding 2 radios. There is an airband NOTCH filter in place.
The computer audio setup is next.
I will be switching the current feed over to an iMic soon.
I will add the second feed when I have the channel assignments.
It will be great.
One step at a time.

I have a quick procedural question to this familiar with SOCAL. I have heard handoffs from LAX DEP to 134.35. Would this frequency also be linked with the 132.85 sector or are they independent from each other ? Does 134.35 handoff to 132.85 then to 119.95 ?
Thank You
