New KBGR Feed
« on: January 10, 2012, 12:18:30 PM »
Just wanted to pop in and say that I am the volunteer on the KBGR feed. Right now it is on a temporary setup with a handheld scanner (SC150) with a rubber duck antenna. I have ordered some new equipment and look forward to getting those in to improve the quality.

I am located on the airfield next to the general aviation terminal, so the tower and most ground communications are pretty clear. Aircraft seem to be okay out to 10 miles, maybe 15 miles.

I have swapped the radio from a handheld SC150 to a BC350A with a metal whip antenna. You can hear more of the aircraft traffic, and the tower traffic is as clear as ever.

The only odd thing is a new squawk at the end of every transmission. Now it sounds just like the movies when ever they use the radio.

Let me know what you guys think, we are still working on the outdoor mast antenna.
