New Flash Player
« on: March 12, 2010, 04:15:38 PM »
I've replaced the old Flash Player with a new one that should be more stable.  The old player had stability/crashing issues on Firefox - those issues do not exist with the new player.

If you have any issues with the new player please post here or send me a private message.

Enjoy - and more features to come.

Dave

Great looking player, I'm starting to prefer this over the Java or MP3 options. Thanks Dave!

Thanks for the updated flash player.  Looks great. Old one did crash on windows and mac pcs periodically. Hopefully this one is more stable.
Thanks again, Dave.

Thanks, Dave!!

Very much an improvement.  Although I use Windows at home and at the office, the FBO where I instruct was set up with Firefox and the old player did have a nasty habit of crashing...new one seems very stable.

Well, at least we are making progress.  The older player crashed about every 20 to 30 minutes for me.  So far I have only
had the chance to run the new one for about an hour continuously, but no crashes.

It all depends on your machine and how much memory it has.  The issue with Flash and MP3 streams is that Adobe has no concept of streaming this type of content...the available players just fill a buffer as if it was playing one large MP3 file. There are some tricks to try and get around this, but they don't work very well.

If you want to listen longer than an hour the best approach is to use Winamp (Windows) or iTunes (Windows/Mac).  There are several other solutions, of course. Anything that plays MP3 streams.
