Navigation Question
« on: April 26, 2006, 09:39:39 PM »
I've been using various Departure Procedures for many different airports on VATSIM, and I've always wondered what something was. I'm not sure what to call it, but on this example below (Kennedy Nine DP at KJFK), it is JFK R-232.

GATEWAY CLIMB: Turn right intercept the JFK R-232 until 5 DME, then turn left heading 220, maintain 5,000 feet.

Any help is greatly appreciated! :D

"JFK R-232" stands for the "JFK 232 degree radial"

Jason,

Ah...that makes sense now. Luckily, I've never had to use SIDs for real world VFR flying, and now I'm starting to learn what it's like being an IFR pilot using Flight Sim.

Thanks!! :D
