Montreal centre  (Read 9158 times)

Good afternoon from Kingston, Ontario !

Using a DPD Omni X and can easily follow eastbound traffic through to 123.95

My question is what's the next likely hand off frequency while eastbound high level to Europe ?    Am I correct to say that 123.95 is the south sector and 133.225 cover the north sector ?

Cheers !

Chris

I believe you are talking about 123.925.

If so the handoff is to Moncton 126.325/133.35

133.225 will usually handoff to Boston at 128.05 (Which is strictly from Montreal Departures Eastbound)

The other way around, 123.925 is north and 133.225 is south. These two sectors are almost always combined and the two frequencies cross-coupled.

If you didn't know about it there is a very good LiveATC feed that covers 133.225 (and 123.925 via cross-coupling). On the overnight shift they also combine the two high sectors to the east, 135.600 and 127.875.

During the off peak times (morning) those Moncton frequencies 126.326/133.350 are often combined (cross-coupled) with the frequencies on the "CYQM Moncton Center High" feed. So you would be able to catch the initial call after the handoff there.

Boston on 128.050 is also covered on a couple of LiveATC feeds.

If it helps at all, attached is my latest chart showing Maritime high altitude frequencies and sector/coverage areas. ARTCC Center, Clearance Delivery and Gander Radio VHF.
