separate out frequencies?
« on: September 10, 2007, 01:44:16 PM »
First off - I absolutely love this site! I do have a question about some of the feeds where there are several frequencies being fed. For example, KBOS clearance/ground. As a student pilot trying to hone my radio skills and clearance delivery understanding, I would like to listen to the clearance frequency only, but it gets stepped on by the feed by the ground controller. Is there a plan to separate out the feeds by frequency? I would like to focus on a frequency rather than a range of frequencies if possible. Thanks!

Most of the feeds are hosted by volunteers and it is dependent on the availability of hardware (scanners, soundcards and computers) whether there is room to split a feed. (Or to expand feeding into new territory.)

Two tips:
 - check smaller airports, less traffic, less stepping on
 - early morning and late evening, less traffic on bigger airports, more complete coverage. The ATC may have all scanned frequencies combined.

If this is important to you, you might consider a donation to help us buy more equipment.

We may make this change soon anyway, but it will be a week or more before I can get to that receive site.
