I apologize for the 45min of "down time" hope those who stuck around enjoyed the music.... a summary of the upgrade...
a 15 foot section of stainless steel was mounted to the top of our 50 foot tower. The existing 60" VHF whip antenna was attached to the top of the 15' section and semi-perminantly mounted.. a 3-way splitter was connected to the base of the tower for up to 2 additional scanners to be hooked up in the future. (thinking of splitting Chicago Center on its own feed)
What's the difference? An 80% increase in reception... Sylvania now comes in crystal clear, Controllers at Milwaukee will be on the feed regardless of weather conditions.... prior to the upgrade reception wasnt good unless it was clear outside.
Enjoy!
