Man I love this!

Just listening to Seattle ATC here at work and 'Boing 001 experimental Heavy' just flew by my window (its the new 777-200LR). I love hearing them on the radio and then seeing them fly by at such low altitudes. I look out over the water here and we are under the KSEA 1800 foot class B floor (for the arrival into KBFI).

Glad I am not up there today though with all the icing they are talking about.

My father always runs to my scanner to listen when choppers or float planes fly around the city.  He always asks me 'who is that? where is he going?".

What's funny is people who visit me will ask "He's over Moosonee" I'll say yes.  And they wonder how an aircraft so far away can be heard, and I say the guy working in Toronto has the switch 'linked' to hear traffic in Moosonee.

I've always tried to watch the high altitude aircraft fly overhead and try to listen to Montreal Ctr to find out which aircraft it is.  Sometimes, the sun is so bright, that you can see the backtail company logo.
