The more frequencies a feed has, the harder it is to follow whats going on. I found that out with Milwaukee, which is why I dropped most of the frequencies.

I run the Madison stream and have all the basic airborne frequencies programmed in. Ground control is pretty boring, as is clearance delivery. What else is there?

MADISON TOWER:  119.3 257.8 [0600-2300]
MADISON APPROACH:  120.1(EAST) 135.45 WEST 343.7 WEST 350.3(EAST) [0600-2300]
MADISON DEPARTURE:  126.85 318.1 [0600-2300]
CLEARANCE DELIVERY:  121.62
ANG OPNS:  392.2
CLASS C:  120.1(EAST) 350.3(EAST)
CLASS C IC:  135.45 WEST 343.7 WEST

CTAF:  119.3 - same as tower

UNICOM:  122.95 - a possibility, though it's not air traffic control or ATC related

ATIS:  124.65 278.3 - would tie up the entire feed

WX ASOS:  PHONE 608-249-0615

MADISON GROUND:  121.9 348.6 [0600-2300] - like mentioned before, not often too exciting and often blocks out tower and approach/departure which many listeners find more entertaining

MADISON TOWER:  119.3 257.8 [0600-2300] - on feed

MADISON APPROACH:  120.1(EAST) 135.45 WEST 343.7 WEST 350.3(EAST) [0600-2300] - on feed

MADISON DEPARTURE:  126.85 318.1 [0600-2300] - a possibility

CLEARANCE DELIVERY:  121.62 - like ground, often blocks tower and app/dept

ANG OPNS:  392.2 - mil freq and probably not often used, not ATC related

CLASS C:  120.1(EAST) 350.3(EAST) - on feed, listed above

CLASS C IC:  135.45 WEST 343.7 WEST - on feed, listed above

EMERG:  121.5 243.0 - on feed

NG OPNS:  123.4 40.8 - not ATC or ATC related, most likely not too interesting, mostly fuel requests etc

That would be nice if you add more freqs.

Some airports just aren't as busy and don't have as many frequencies.  What you hear is what you get.  All I could suggest is possibly ZAU over MSN, but that may get confusing with the airport freqs.  I just hope everyone understands that we feeders are providing a volunteer service.  If this person didn't live in the Madison area and/or wasn't willing to put in the time, money, and effort to provide the feed, we wouldn't have it.  I think I'd be a bit offended if someone called one of my feeds boring, as I've put alot into them (granted both mine are down for the time being, so they'd have more of a reason ;).)

You'll frequently find that those who contribute the least are the ones who complain the most.

Since MSN is my feed, I was going to reply to this tpoic but you guys pretty much covered what I wanted to say.

Thanks.

What you hear is what you get.  I have been living in the area and listening to MSN ATC for 30+ years now. What I have programmed in is about the best you can get with a single scanner (and a volunteer running it).

Of course, I would not complain at all if a few anonymous donations floated my way so I could get another scanner, a faster encoding computer and a more reliable internet connection......

Amen to that...I'd have a feed for IND tower ground, another for app/dept, another for ZID, and one for LAF/ZAU up if people put more time towards donating and helping and less towards complaining.
