LiveATC on the iPhone

Just bought the iPhone app "Tuner" as advertised on the LiveATC home page, works awesome, I was really surprised actually. I still have the Generation 1 iPhone, but with the new updates these apps work, obviously you'll need to have a wifi connection.

i'm sure you'll have fun listening to the feeds on your iphone.
actually, the feeds will work through the tuner app on the 1st gen iphone with or without a wifi connection. the bandwidth for liveatc streams are so small you can actually reliably listen to feeds through the base GPRS or EDGE connection :)

Hello,

I also bought the Tuner App for my iPhone 3G, 16Gb.  I guess I need some guidance.  When I touch the open button, then type in the URL for a given stream on LiveATC.net, I continue to get "unknown Stream" errors.  This is what I typed into the URL field on th e"Open" dialogue.

Any suggestions at to what I am doing wrong?  Thanks

I figured this out on my own and hope this info will assist others.

The URL needed for Manchester is:

http://d.liveatc.net/kmht

I have found its very easy to add additional feeds on the iPhone by simply replacing the airport code.

For example, with the above KMHT entry, just change "kmht" to "kmsp_twr" to get the Minnie Tower.   Make sure you touch the bookmark icon in the Tuner App and you will have easy access to your favorite LiveATC streams.

Just one more comment, after using the App; "Tuner" for an hour or so, I can report that LiveATC.net works very very well on the iPhone 3G, sound quality is great.  The METAR even scrolls across the screen.  It only takes about 10 seconds to add new streams once the initial enter is made for your first frequency.
