I recently (prior to the Buffalo incident) did an interview at the request of Fox25 News (local Boston Fox affiliate).
If you are in the New England area and pick up Fox25 News, you can see it tomorrow night (3/10/09 at 10pm).
If not, I'll post a reference to it after it airs - it will be online somewhere.

hey great job! its relay cool just how big Liveatc.net has become. thanks again for all your hard work
-
He may be a great reporter but he needs to learn English - from his interview
"Dave is also a recreational pilot and took photographer Jen Platt and I up for a spin."
He took "I" up for a spin? Typical of a 5 year old but not a reporter, I would think.

Hey, nice shirt! :-)
-
Awesome job and great interview, Dave. Very proud to know you and to be a small part of this site.
-
So Pro!!!!Nice Job.

Nice job Dave! This site is a true gem amongst an otherwise ridiculous internet.
That guy who did the story sounded genuinely excited about all of this...nice to know we're not considered crazy 8-)
Also, I love the b-roll of the old school Delta 727 at the end of the clip...

Actually, this is correct english. 'Me' is bad grammar when including more than one person as the object:

I too loved the Delta 727 at the end...Hard to find one at a major airport these days unless shes hauling freight! :-)

I have been known to make my share of grammatical mistakes but I am pretty sure that in the quoted sentence "Dave" is the subject, not "Jenn Platt and I."

I'm a licensed pilot and fly out of OWD, where Dave flies from (at least on the video). As I watched the news last night after American Idol, I knew they were going to mention this site, that I've been using for some time, now. (4 years, I'd say)
I had no idea Dave was from Massachusetts.
So, I'm watching it and I go "Hey, they're in Norwood!!!" My wife asks me how I know and I said that I recognized the voice of the tower controller when he cleared Dave for takeoff. Sure enough, at 1:30 of the clip, the Skyhawks the reporter stands in front of are owned by my flight school. Couldn't see the tail number, but based on the paint, it's either 9905F or 712SJ.
So YAY for OWD !!!! and YAY for live ATC.net. My wife had to admit that I wasn't completely nuts after all.

Just superb! Thanks!

Hey, nice shirt! :-)
I see an additinal revenue stream here....how about selling the golf shirts?

Jason and KSYR-pjr got that for me a while ago. We are going to offer a bunch of that stuff via CafePress soon. It's been in the works but hasn't been high priority.

Ha...I actually fly out of Nashua, and occasionally out of Hanscom. But I flew to OWD that day since it is close to Fox25. But yay for OWD anyway! I have a friend who I fly with often who is based there.
Glad to hear from you.

Congratulations, Dave. That was a really nice piece. You deserve all the adulation, and a whole lot more!

Congrats Dave and to those who help with this site. Worthy of being acknowledged in the news for sure. I have to be honest though......the clip of the pilot, who was out of control and screaming like hell, seemed a bit morbid for the news to share with the viewing public. I realize it had a happy ending, it just seemed like an awfully odd clip for them to use.
Great piece none the less!!

I DVR'ed this bit when it first aired on FOX25. It was fantastic!
And cool to hear you fly out of Hanscom sometimes...I've flown out of there. Great airport to experience some insane traffic on weekends.
Congratulations Dave!

Nice job Dave..... too bad for us YANKEE fans it had to be Boston!

If you ever been to England or Scotland, you'd know that the reporter was using 'proper English' :-D
BTW, English is always capitalized 8-)
