Hi,
Just to let you know I am now streaming my RADAR screen. Not the Google Earth 5 minute delayed RADAR screen, but actual LIVE Kuwait RADAR.
You will watch exactly what I’m watching, when I’m watching!
Go to http://www.kuwaitstorm.com/sbs-1/livesbs1.html
Click I agree to download the program KuwaitStorm SBS-1.
Follow the instructions on the page.
Now open the Live ATC audio feed and that way you can listen AND watch. Both LIVE!
Enjoy.
:-D

Sounds really cool. :)
But the ip you provide is a private ip, not accessible from the internet.
-
hmm. that's strange. I am able to view it from another computer.
-
I cant get on either
-
OK. Im using another version of the server. Can you try it again 169.254.2.2 or 169.254.2.2:5900
And let me know.
Thanks
-
Any 192.168.x.x ip is private address space and not accessible from the outside world. You're able to get to it because you're within your own private network there.
-
you should be able to get in now. i hope :? try it again 169.254.2.2 or 169.254.2.2:5900
-
Those are all still private IP addresses. Go to http://whatismyip.com to get your real address. But you will either have to put your PC in the DMZ or forward the VNC port (TCP port 5900) for this to work.
-
I finally got it! It's 62.150.201.36 port 5900
Not sure whether it should be with or without the :5900 after the IP.
Can someone give it a try please?
Thanks.

Nope, neither works for me. The closest I got to any content was with the port suffixed on the end of the IP, which only produced this one line on a page:
RFB 004.000
-
its working now! but im looking at the website whatismyip.com lol
-
LOL Sorry its on the radar screen now. I wonder if more than 1 can log in at a time.
-
This is awesome, thanks for doing this!
-
My pleasure. It's nice to see AND hear the traffic live huh?
Now for some tweaking, I hope you can help me out here. I dont want people to log in using my IP since it may be changed from time to time by my ISP. I'm now using a program called no-isp so that I can simply supply the user with an actual URL as apposed to an IP number. It's okbk.myvnc.com it should log you in. Let me know how it goes as I can test it from my own network.
Thanks
-
OK guys I managed to make it work using no-ip.com now enter the following info in VNCViewer Server: okbk.myvnc.com
If that doesn't work try 62.150.206.224
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks all.
-
Has anyone tried it? I'd love some feedback.
Thanks.

I have tried it but still cannot connect. The "MyVNC" link doesn't work because I use OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com/) as my DNS service and it does not have that link mapped in their DNS database. I also tried the direct IP you provided and am receiving a page not found error.
-
Hi Whocares
I have just tried your live Radar and it is amazing you have done a great job, access was stright forward and the Radar was clear.
best regards,
KSA

Strange. I'm not really sure about the DNS thing you have.
You are trying to access using the VNCViewer right? Not your web browser.
Just to confirm the info:
okbk.myvnc.com or if it doesn't work try 62.150.206.224

Thanks KSA. What do you think of the screen size. Any information would be valiable to make it as good as possbile for everyone.

Hi whocares , long time my friend ...
I am so glad to learn about it . It is very interesting indeed .
I tried it and it is great . WELL DONE !
All the best ,
Yousef
-
Hi Yousef,
Thanks for that. Please send me feedback. I want to know if the RADAR screen is too big or small.
Thanks.
-
Whocares,
Do you know of a simple way for a computerally challenged Mac user to see it?
Peace
-
Good question. My main computer is a Mac too. But as its on the same network I cannot view it.
Go to: http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/research/dtg/attarchive/vnc/platforms.html
And scroll down to the Mac OS ones and see which one works.
Oh and please let me know which one it is.
Thanks.
-
TrixieKQ Got it!
Go to http://www.kuwaitstorm.com/sbs-1/livesbs1.html
Click I Agree on the bottom of the page and download the Mac OS VNC Viewer.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks.
-
this is great!
live ATC AND RADAR!!
good work!
out of curiosity... did you hard code your IP info into the program? I never had to mannually enter any server details.

Glad you like it. Actually I'm using a program called NoIP and set my server name as okbk.myvnc.com the program makes it possible for anyone with a VNC Viewer to just type in that name and it'll connect to my computer regardless of the ip.
-
ah ok.
just one last Q, are you using the new "RadarBox" from airnavsystems?
or another method?
what kind of hardware do you have to recieve the radar infos?
http://www.airnavsystems.com/RadarBox/index.html
^^ RadarBox is about £470.
^^damn lol
-
Ask as much as you like.
Im using this: http://www.kineticavionics.co.uk/sbs-1.php
-
whocares,
I can't make the darn thing work.
-
Are you talking about the KuwaitStormSBS-1 program? If so, then go to this page: http://www.kuwaitstorm.com/sbs-1/livesbs1.html
Click Yes, I Agree and download the new version. If that still doesn't work, read the instruction on the same page where the download is. Read all the way to the end for the IP number.
It'll work. If not, holler.
-
I must be missing something. I can download and unstuff the file. I can open the VNC viewer. And then nothing. There is a "host" box on the VNC window, but I can't input the ip address, either manually or by pasting. I've tried putting the ip into a browser window instead, but it won't connect to that server.
I've uninstalled the viewer and reinstalled it a couple of times. Thanks.
Peace
-
OK. You may need a different version.
Check here: http://www.geocities.com/tim_senecal/vnc.html
You may need the 64k version.
You say you cant type in the host box? That's strange.
Let me know. If you still cant get it to start, then, well, I dont know. I guess i'll google it or something and see what I can find.
-
The screen is very good, clear image.
Unfortunately there are not too much planes transmitting.
Good job !
-
Great. Enjoy and thanks for the feedback.
-
Hey, what kind of setup do you have? It would be really cool to set one of these radar screens up to broadcast on here!
-
1 - SBS-1 http://www.kinetic-avionics.co.uk/sbs-1.php
2 - VNCViewer Software to stream the radar screen
let me know if you need any more info about it.
-
Wow, $700!
I would be willing to host JFK traffic, but I cant afford the $700 price tag. Are there any other systems that do the same thing, but cheaper?
-
This is the only other product available:
