Title: KSGF Feed broadcasting music
Post by: stevekirks on January 06, 2015, 12:37:34 PM
Listening to my home feed of KSGF and it's all music, not ATC.  I would guess stuck mic/bad audio patch on an aircraft, but no one is stepping over the sound.  I'm guessing that it's scanner side.  Can anyone pass the word to that volunteer?

Appears to be some local interference...may take a few days to get fixed since the feed is in a secure location and not easy to access quickly.

Thanks for the quick feedback.  I live in Springfield about 2 miles southeast of 3DW and roughly same elevation.  Would my location be of any value for picking up a feed for you guys?  I've got some extra PC gear and bandwidth.  I would be willing to get some radio gear and set up something...

Is it at least good music?  :-P

This issue should be partially resolved.  There is still out of band interference that appears to be occasionally tripping the squelch but the addition of a bandpass filter in a few days should help resolve the issue.

This receiver site is pretty high and exposed to a lot of interference so it needs a little more TLC than other sites.  :-)

A bandpass filter has been installed on this feed - enhanced reception for ATC frequencies and the interference appears to be gone for good.
