KSFO?
« on: May 07, 2009, 17:44:31 UTC »
For about the past week I've not been able to hear anything from any of the KSFO sites (e.g., Tower, Ground)  The "KSFO" appears in the player and the connection looks fine (including the timer) yet there is no sound. I've tried several different methods of connecting but so far no joy.  Most of the other sites I typically listen to (e.g., KLAS, KSAN, etc.) come through fine.  Anyone else having the same problem?  Dave, any thoughts?

Mystery solved - I have been using a mono headphone with only the right ear connected, which allows my left ear to talk with co-workers, answer telephone, etc.   I just switched to a stereo headset and suddenly KSFO comes through loud and clear.  This must be due to KSFO having stereo capability - the other sites I could hear must be mono.

Sorry for the earlier note - but a good tip for others about using stereo/mono headphones -

Good catch...something is not quite right with the mono/stereo setup out there.  I will not be able to deal with it until the next time I am in SFO.  Too hard to debug remotely.
