This afternoon I noticed a situation in NORCAL that I have seen previously but have always been curious about SFO and SJC are taking off and landing in opposite directions. SFO on runways 28 SJC on runways 12. Things seem very tight in the sky. I am curious about the decision process on this arrangement. Winds ranging from 190 to 200 8 knots on average.
