Nice, I use to listen to Seattle
Center on another site but it went down several months ago. This feed is
a bit noisy, and doesn't include approach/departure, but is still
a great thing to have.
Hi Greg, welcome. I came over to this site when that other feed (microvoltradio via Live365) went down...I've been waiting for the day when we had at least some SEA feed, and this is a great start. Sounds to me that at least some of the approach and departure freqs are included.
Yeah, after I listened to if for more then a minute or two I heard
controllers passing people off to the tower. This feed is nice
because you do get to hear the tower. I like that.
Terrain around here makes reception a challenge...I've got great scanner reception from my house of arrivals from the east, but only pilots no controllers. From your Real Network location you probably have great reception of both --- maybe you can supply a feed :P
I have been looking around for a scanner. Can't decide if I want
a handheld or not. I really like to stop at airports while traveling.
So a hand held would be nice for that.
From your photo I'm guessing --- Galvin Flight School?
Mike
Yup, I have 41 hours. Was just going to do my check ride with
the FAA when I went on vacation. When I came back my instructor
had gotten a job with Horizon flying Dash-8s (nice plane BTW).
With having to get a new instructor and kind of running out of
money :-) I just have not been back. Really miss it, was so
close to. That photo is me back on the ground after my first
solo.
