KRHV missing the tower
« on: February 07, 2011, 12:54:41 PM »
Sometime last week the KRHV feed was completely silent for the good part of a day.

Ever since it came back, you can only hear pilots - weakly with noise artifacts I never heard before the downtime - and you can't here the tower.

Anyone know how to get in touch with the feed provider and ask what's going on?

We will look into it...thanks for the report.  In the future the contact link is the best place to report issues, not the forum.

I have the same issue every now and then on the KSAT feed. They seem to have problems with the TWR freq every now and then or my scanner decides to get stuck on that freq and streams nothing but static. In each case it seems to fix itself though.

Sorry, no update.  This receiver moved location (feed volunteer moved) and it may be out of range of the tower now.

If anyone is close to RHV and would like to volunteer please let me know.

I'm very close to KRHV and can probably get a receiver placed at the actual airport.  Please let me know.

We are working with someone who expects to be able to get it online in July some time.  If that falls through I will let you know.

Many thanks.

This is my feed (at least for now - haha) and I've been totally lame in getting better reception on KRHV tower since I moved to a new place earlier this year.  I've *finally* raised the antenna about 20 feet and we're picking up the tower a lot better now.  This antenna is also on the KSJC tower feed and it also seems to be clearer now.

Let me know how it sounds.  Thanks.

the good news is I can hear the tower (although it's a little fuzzy sometimes).  the bad news is i can't hear all the pilots (only some of them).  i'm pretty sure my flying club (Tradewinds) would help us host this receiver if we wanted to move it.

let me know.
