General/Civil Aviation Message Boards.
« on: May 07, 2009, 12:52:03 AM »
Hey there, just wondering if anybody here had any suggestions on some good General/Civil aviation discussion boards.
I am a brand new private pilot with about 100 hours, looking to move onto my IFR rating. This is a great forum but it seems that not a ton of people are on it.

I'm based out of Hartford, CT so any North East Aviation forums would be awesome.

Thanks!

There was a set Usenet groups that were quite popular under rec.aviation (.piloting, .owning, .ifr) but the traffic has diminished significantly due to a handful of trolls and undesirables that hijacked the boards. Still, some traffic gets through on these boards.

Most of their users went to Pilots of America at www.pilotsofamerica.com. Others went here and the rest, who knows.

studentpilot.com is also good, particularly for IFR. There are a good number of ppl who know their stuff on that board.
