KGSB Feed
« on: February 16, 2019, 11:34:41 AM »
I prefer military listening so was excited to see KGSB added this week.  I'm not sure everything is quire right with the feed though.  I tried listening Friday and today.  There is mostly silence, and some things I have heard don't sound like ATC.  I actually heard a voice say "Hello ?".  Thursday night it seemed like it was working, but I only had time for a 10 minute try out.

Thanks to the provider for adding this feed, looking forward to listening to it.

Glad to see more military feeds being added as well. I'm running another KSUU - Travis AFB feed that hasn't been officially added to the site just yet. But the test link should work if you want to check it out d.liveatc.net/ksuu

I'm the feed provider for the GSB feed. The silence most likely is due to very little general avaiation traffic this weekend due to poor weather.  Seymour Johnson lights up during the week but doesnt do much on the weekends.  I did not have any UHF hits on my ARTCC scanner since Friday afternoon.  The "hello" was most likely on vhf guard which has been remove from the feed.

When the F15's are up you will hear short random transmissions of them yelling out numbers so keep that in mind when listening.  I'm off Monday/Tuesday and will monitor the feed both days to ensure everything is 100%.  Prior to the feed going live it was nearly constant radio traffic from the KC135's and F15 being rather training heavy this past week.

If you notice any other problems please let me know.  Glad to see people are actually listening to it.

Thought you guys might enjoy this. Picked up a CORONET departure, QUAKE51 and 52 and a flight of A10's(I think) leaving KSUU to PHIK.

Hopefully very soon. Waiting on setting up a fully dedicated pc or possibly a rasp pi Dave might send. For now I usually have it up and running during the day.

Unfortunately my feed computer suffered a major failure the first of last week. First a hum started in the audio, after several attempts to fix the issue the computer eventually decided it had enough and died. I tried to get it fixed prior to the wings over Wayne air show this past weekend but was unsuccessful.

With that being said the feed is now back online with a few changes. I deleted the following out KISO CTAF, KGSB Ground, KGSB Metro and KGSB dispatch but added the surrounding low ARTCC sectors for Washington center, additionally the base coordination frequencies have been added.

Now you should be able to follow the F-15s has they take off, check in with Washington Center plus the KC-135’s giving mission reports upon return. The Air Refuel Frequencies are still on the feed as well.
