KFRG has been quiet for a few days. I flew there today and it was a mad house. Is it my computer or does the link have a problem?
Thanks
-
Still Nothing. I've tried it on multiple computers so I'm pretty sure it's not me.
-
Quiet for me too.

How do we contact someone? I'm supposed to solo there in the next day or two.

I know that Dave doesn't want the feeders hassled about up/downtime but given that you are soloing I will send the FRG feeder an email. I have interacted with him a lot in the aviation newsgroups in the past and here occasionally.

Thank you very much. I greatly appreciate that.

Sorry guys, I popped a breaker a couple of days ago and I didn't realize the scanner was on that line so my scanner was still off but the feed was up with dead air. It's up now.
In the future, if the feed is up but no sound, my scanner was probably in advertently turned off. Considering the chatter at KFRG, you should hear too much dead air.
Just let Dave know (or Rich through the forum) adn they'll drop me a note. I already get an email when the feed is down so reach out only when there's dead air.

Thank you, Marco. You're dedication to providing a quality feed is much appreciated by many here.

I meant "Peter." Not sure where "Rich" came from...

Hey pilipsp, did you solo yet???

Hi Guys. Thanks for getting that turned back on. The minimums weren't good enough. My instructor says we'll try for Thursday. I hope it don't flub my radio calls. Sometimes I get a little tongue tied. You all provide a great service. I enjoy listening all day at work and at home.
Thanks again,
Paul

You're welcome. Listening to the LiveATC streams on a regular basis will go a long way in helping you with your radio calls. If you listen often enough, the radio chatter will become second nature. it will also help you get used to what ATC is expecting from the pilots. For example, I listen for the "hold short" instructions and always notice how they keep at the pilot if they neglect to explicitly say "hold short" or "holding short" in their readback.
When I was training for my instrument rating, listening to the approach frequencies (especially New York TRACON) helped me get comfortable speaking in the IFR system. If you can get comfortable with NY Approach, you'll be OK anywhere.
Good luck on that solo!
