Yesterday's air show went off very nicely but not without its drama. The Thunderbirds were in the middle of their performance when they had to pause their routine because of a medical emergency at a nearby beach that required a rescue helicopterto be flown in. Although that beach was several miles away from Jones Beach, it was still within the TFR so the Thunderbirds orbital the area while they waited it out. After about 20-25 minutes, they resumed their performance.
This all took place close to the expiration of the TFR so a 10-minute extention of the TFR was granted.
Weather looks fantastic for today's show. Enjoy!
