I respect what police do, but WTF they can't even apologize! They should go to jail for false accusations!!
Hey, hold on... Read the article linked in the original post... Martha King said that the SB police chief called and apologized, in her words, "clearly and profusely."
And if that started a dialog that will result in them working together to provide more appropriate training for such situations, then it seems like everybody is trying to moving forward - from a truly unfortunate inicdent - with some positive outcome. It sure shows some class on the Kings' part to not ratchet up the hyperbole, and to actually work with the SBPD to try to give them better training. And - as unfortunate as the incident was - I have to give some credit to the SBPD for being receptive to that...
