Title: Jetliner crashes on Colombian island; 1 killed

Look at the pictures.  Amazing only one person lost their life.  Firefighters were quick in putting out the beginnings of a fire, which certainly saved the day.

I think it's the images that show just how it is that they survived. It broke apart in three pieces, but notice how other than that, all three sections are still very much in tact. Makes me feel a little safer about Boeing. +1

Here's another story of a lightning strike at a 737 with damage to the horizontal elevator (used for pitch up and down).

The pics on this site http://forum.bgspotters.net/viewtopic.php?p=33734#33734 show the damage D-ABXM sustained to her left elevator trim tab much better. A chunk of it is missing on the inboard side. Damage to the elevator is also better shown. The horizontal stabilizer sustained no damage.

Sadfully today there is news of an 11 year old girl who was in coma did not make it either, that makes 2 people dead here. R.I.P.
