I am excited to announce that, thanks to a partnership with the ever dedicated Sun 'n Fun staff, Sun 'n Fun Radio will be streamed via LiveATC.net during the 2010 Sun 'n Fun International Fly-in & Expo, held April 13-18, 2010 at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, Florida.  Additional audio streams will include up to three ATC channels (the target is both Tower frequencies and one Approach frequency).  So not only will you be able to listen to SnFRadio, but you can also hear the Lakeland Air Traffic Controllers safely guide Sun 'n Fun visiting pilots in.

Listeners all over the world will be able to tune in via the LiveATC.net web site, LiveATC Air Radio on the iPhone or iPod Touch, and via the LiveATC mobile website on a variety of other mobile devices, including Blackberry and Android smartphones, Palm Pre, and others.

Sun 'n Fun Radio's volunteer chairman Dave Shallbetter, who works diligently throughout the year to provide quality content for SnFRadio listeners, had this to say: "Audio steaming SnFRadio has been a dream of mine for many years. This partnership is yet another example of Sun 'n Fun and SnFRadio's commitment to share the love of  aviation & to share our event with people worldwide. I look forward to working with Dave Pascoe, LiveAC.net's founder."

Lakeland Tower (North and South) feed is up, and the Lake Parker Arrival is up as well - listen tomorrow morning, sure to be a busy day for inbounds to Sun 'n Fun.  Another feed will be coming up as well, with a variety of less active frequencies.

There is a volume level issue with the Lake Parker receiver.  It is in a remote (inaccessible right now) site and fixing it may be difficult.  You can hear it if you turn your volume way up.  Apologies but this is being done remotely and the staff down there are doing their best to keep the ATC feeds up - this is not their primary job.  Tower is very busy and is coming through fine.

Sounds great to me, but that might be all the speakers I have. I do think it would be cool to have the Air Boss, (126.75 I think)

Limited resources...turns out we can only stream the Tower frequencies for now.  The Lake Parker location was good but there were insurmountable issues where the feed equipment had to be located.  We may be able to move it but it isn't looking too good right now.  Tower's rockin' though!

To Dave and anyone else who helped make the Sun-N-Fun feeds happen...  GREAT JOB!

As a pilot, and a huge Sun-N-Fun fan... I thought these feeds were nothing short of perfect. Why? Because it was infectious. Let me explain.
Our usual "ritual" is to take the Friday, during Sun-N-Fun week, off from work then a car-load of us goes up to spend the day.

We listened to the South tower feed driving in... if you have not attended (much less flown into) Sun-N-Fun you would be in for a jaw-dropping experience. The sheer number of aircraft flying around and the NOTAM and procedures we have to follow flying in... is a spectacle. LISTENING to ATC is amazing. Well the feed provided entertainment - thanks to a 3G iPhone and the LiveATC feed - for the entire drive. While we were walking around it continued to be a source of aural entertainment. We were asked several times: How are you hearing that, I don't see a talkie?

So we had numbers of people bringing up the feed on their iPhones. (the infectious part - and 3G coverage at Lakeland Linder field is very good.)

Our friends at the Uncontrolled Airspace Podcast also "advertised" the Live ATC feed, and Live ATC in general.  The feeds were crystal clear and convenient beyond belief. Plus we could listen to the airshows even if we were not at the field... or even Lakeland for that matter

Nice work to all that made it possible.  I certainly look forward to it again.
