« on: October 25, 2006, 19:58:11 UTC »
Hi Listeners,

I would like to know if anyone out there has been able to follow an International flight from the US to Ireland or England?
I would like to know if its possible to follow online from start to stop in regard to such a flight?

All contributions welcome.

Hi there,

As far as I know, it isn't possible to track an international flight to England because broadcasting from a scanner is illeagal (in England,Scotland,Wales*) under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1948.

*Not sure about Ireland because we have an EIDW feed here.

Cheers,
Craig

Justin,

Ive found out that it is possible to monitor such a flight whilst being online and that there are listeners within our forum who can advise...?

Boston Logan -  Dublin Ireland

From CDEL to Bos Center Im OK, but after that:

Gander
Iceland
Shanwick
Dublin APP...?

Dublin Twr + Dublin Gnd should be easy enough.

As for the handoffs over the Atlantic, just to listen in on these HF handoffs online would be a treat!  I have had the privalage of a HF radio but online would be much clearer with out poor skip and distortion, I imagine.

Excuse the pun, but Im all ears...!

IT can almost be done BUT with a combination of LIVEATC and DX tuners..DX being necessary for the hf side of the flight from 30 west until VHF hand over..Not possible at vhf handover at 15 west
